Description
The tour begins at Casemates and continues through Irish Town to the Piazza, where you learn the history of the Square, formerly known as Jews Market. Discover the history of City Hall and the Cardozo family connection.
Visit the Mario Finlayson Art Gallery, featuring works by Jacob Azagury, a renowned Jewish artist. Then stop at The Guard House, where books and souvenirs are available.
Next, explore the Shaar Hashamayim Synagogue and Etz Hayim Synagogue while hearing about their local history. The tour also visits Bomb House Lane and the Nefusot Yehudah Synagogue.
Lunch options are available at local kosher restaurants (not included in the tour fee).
Optional Rock Tour Itinerary
The Rock tour is an optional extension requiring a separate taxi fare. Board a share taxi to visit the ancient Jews Gate Cemetery and Pillars of Hercules.
The Rock tour includes visits to St. Michael’s Cave, Apes Den, Upper Galleries, and a drive past the Moorish Castle. The tour returns to the taxi stand.
Prices for the Rock tour taxi are paid directly to the driver (42 GBP per person as of June 2024). Private taxis can also be arranged on request.

Important Information
- The synagogues have a few stairs to navigate: Shaar Hashamayim (6 stairs), Etz Hayim (10 stairs)
- Pickup is at Casemates Gate for cruise ship passengers
- No pickup is available at the cruise terminal
