Spend a day in Gibraltar with a guided tour from Nerja, Almunecar, or Motril. Travel by car or minibus, park in La Linea, and cross the border on foot. Explore the Rock of Gibraltar, see the city center, and enjoy free time for lunch and shopping. Travel around Gibraltar by bus, on foot, and ascend the Rock by cable car. The Rock of Gibraltar is certainly the biggest attraction of Gibraltar. Inside which stretches more than 50 km of tunnels, hollowed both for military purposes and communication. A nature reserve (Gibraltar Nature Reserve) has been established on the Rock, which occupies almost 40% of Gibraltar. Together with your guide, go to the Rock, walk around the city center. See the Convent, the official seat of the Governor of Gibraltar, serving in that capacity since 1728. The building was built in the first half of the 16th century as a convent of the Franciscan Order. Visit the Cathedral of Saint Mary the Crowned, a Catholic temple dating from the second half of the 15th century. See the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, the main Anglican temple in Gibraltar. Although it was only built in 1838, its facade beautifully evokes the Moorish heritage of the region. Visit the Trafalgar Cemetery, the resting place of those who fell in the famous Battle of Trafalgar, which took place on October 21, 1805. After that, have time for lunch, shopping, and rest. Visit Main Street, a nearly kilometer-long street that had its roots as far back as the 16th century, when it was known to the Spanish as Calle Real. Today, colorful buildings with stores, pubs, and restaurants are located along the street.
